"Just a big thankyou to yourself, and staff at Saltriver. We went out yesterday in the pines for a ride, “buckskin pony” travelled well in the float, rode like a dream and nothing phased her at all. For a young 3yrold and green, she performed like a seasoned, well handled horse. Her spook at the kangaroos was a stop and prick. She cantered well, pulled up well everything, turned on a dime through bush. She was relaxed and flowing. "Hi Kellie Thanks for a great weekend up here in Broome. Learnt heaps. I must have used just about every muscle in my body this weekend because I can feel every single one today! On a positive note, the groundwork exercises that Doogal and I were having problems with yesterday were much better today. He still stalled on the change in front of the cone coming from my left but we worked through it by changing my position and approach - drove his back end rather than pulling the front (like I had a hope!). We even graduated to the figure of 8 around the drums which I was pretty pleased with. He is at a 1 and 3 with the bending and driving his hind quarters which is a vast improvement. Really helped anchoring the rope at my centre, and having a no bullsh*t demeanour on. Doogal is absolutely gutted that I have learnt so much over the weekend. Even had some success backing him up in a straight line- did it bare back today- still not brilliant but some improvement today. Thanks again for a fantastic weekend." |
"I have been fortunate enough to have known Heath and Kellie Stuart since 2001. I have attended several clinics that they have run here in my home town of Derby and also in Broome and have loved every minute of them. Both are patient and always seem to get the very best from me.
