Thompson’s Prophecy is a young sire with a bright future, from limited outings he has won a Challenge and placed in Maidens, Novice and Open drafts. He is extremely well bred with an outstanding temperament.
Prophecy is by the late great ASH sire Warrenbri Romeo horse Bellfield Prophet and is out of the now deceased mare Yarrannoo Music owned and campaigned extensively by Bruce McNaughton. Music was by the great Polocrosse and campdraft sire in Star Black Minstrel out of star Glenna’s daughter. Music was a high class; multiple open draft winning mare her success’s included the Canning Downs Campdraft at Warwick. Music’s dam Star Glennas daughter also produced on the same cross as Music, Star Carousel (campaigned by Ian Francis to win both the Cloncurry Stockmans Challenge and an Australian Working Cowhorse title), Star Brigadoon and Star Pavarotti both successful sires residing in the east.
|
On Prophecy’s dam side, Boxhurst Jaqueline was an A grade polocrosse mare by the good Abdul sire Comara Abbey’s
Cattle King. Cattle King sired the Palmers brilliant mare Fable (winner of the World Championship draft at Sydney and Warwick Gold Cup finalist and placegetter on many occasions), Kyabra Cattle Baron (sire of good polocrosse and campdraft stock notably Boonara Dartagnan and his full brother Kawlija, Dogwood Kidman and Hamilton Park Sobriety) Cattle King daughters have gone onto become successful broodmares producing stock that are winning major campdrafts.
Thompsons Prophecy breeding contains two Foundation Sires (FS) in Reality and Star Black Minstrel, three Impact Sires (IS) through Abdul, Warrenbri Romeo and Comara Abbey’s Cattle King, one Foundation Mare (FM) in Tania and two Impact Mares (IM) in Warrenbri Julie and Star Glenna’s Daughter.

“Kirkbys Stud Jericho” was purchased from Phillip Kirkby as a yearling. Jericho’s sire “Adios Reflect” was by “Abdul”, one of the best producing and performed sons of the mighty “Abbey”. Abdul won over 35 open drafts including the Warwick Gold Cup and the Melbourne Expo Draft. As a sire Abdul produced horses such as “Comara Abbeys Cattle King”, “Comara Ablo”, “Edenhope Sam”, “Waikon Park Abray” and “Palmers Fort Abdul” amongst many others.
Perhaps Abdul’s best known and most successful progeny are out of the mare “Barona Amy”. They include “Barona Select” (won in excess of 200 drafts plus placing in the Warwick Gold Cup and held ABCRA Open and Novice horse titles), “Barona Direct” ( multiple open draft winner plus placed in the Warwick Gold Cup and is the sire of “Shamrock” , winner of both the Canning Downs draft and the Warwick Gold Cup) and Jericho’s sire Adios Reflect (a multiple open draft winner and cut out winner at Warwick).
|
Adios Reflect is probably best known as a sire of great performance horses including “Adios Flo Jo” (ABCRA Open Horse title holder and winner of over 100 drafts, including the Canning Downs), Cliff Lyons’ ”Shadow” (ABCRA Novice horse of the year), Bruce Birney’s “Wonga”, Fred Patterson’s “Sultan”, “Kirkby Stud Echo” (7/8th brother to Jericho), the Lyons family’s “Adios Just Blue” and Cameron Jones’ “Kirkbys Stud Turbo”.
Jericho’s dam “Kirkbys Stud Diamond” is by the great “Warrenbri Romeo” sire “Warrenbri Omega” (winner of the Warwick Gold Cup, champion Working Stock Horse at Sydney Royal on two occasions and holder of number one position on the ACA Sires rating for three successive years). Omega has sired many notable horses including “Kirkbys Stud Orchy”, “Officer”, “Theo” and “Soda O’Reilly”. Omega is also the sire of the dam of the Adios Reflect stallion “Kirkbys Stud Echo”. Diamond won a novice draft at her first or second start and was promptly retired to the broodmare band.
Jericho is a young stallion that is bred in the purple. His breeding contains; two Foundation Sires (FS) in Abbey and Elliotts Creek Cadet, two Foundation Mares (FM) in Comara Princess and Barona Amy, two Impact Sires (IS) in Abdul and Warrenbri Romeo and one Impact Mare (IM) in V Bar N Bonnet. Abbey, Romeo and Cadet are by far the most prolific sires in the Australian Stock Horse society, and their decendants consistently top the sales in Australia.
